Project Stream

The Project Stream is a component of the Sport Support Program. Organizations that contribute to one of the identified key strategic areas listed below are eligible to apply in the Project Stream. Applications for projects will be considered in the following areas:

  • Sport Participation
  • Ethics
  • Improving Mission Delivery for Major Games
  • Transfer of Knowledge/Information Sharing
  • Other Strategic Investments as identified by Sport Canada such as Long Term Athlete Development

More Canadians watched amateur sporting events in 2005 than in 1998. The number of spectators increased from 7.6 million or 32% of adult Canadians in 1998 to 9.2 million or 35% in 2005.
