Minister Moore Releases the Horizontal Results-Based Management and Accountability Framework for the Roadmap
OTTAWA, September 17, 2009 - On behalf of the Government of Canada, the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today released the Horizontal Results-Based Management and Accountability Framework, developed in connection with the implementation of the
Roadmap for Canada's Linguistic Duality 2008-2013: Acting for the Future.
"Our Government is committed to delivering all the components of the Roadmap to Canadians," said Minister Moore. "The Framework will help us monitor and assess the implementation of the Roadmap, as it is a tool for guiding the process."
The
Roadmap for Canada's Linguistic Duality 2008-2013: Acting for the Future reiterates the Government of Canada's commitment to our two official languages and the vitality of official-language minority communities. The Roadmap is an unprecedented government-wide investment of $1.1 billion over five years that involves 14 federal departments and agencies. The Framework, designed to comply with the Government of Canada's principles of sound management, will enable all federal Roadmap partners to demonstrate their good management as well as the achievement of the Roadmap's expected results.
