The Official Languages Research and Dissemination Program (2004-2005 to 2006-2007)

Official Languages Issues in Canada:

This strategic grants program is a three-year (2004-2005 to 2006-2007) joint initiative of the Official Languages Support Programs Branch of the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). The Program is intended to support research that will contribute to a better understanding of the issues affecting second language learning and official-language minority communities across Canada.

In 2004-2005, twenty-two projects totalling $1,000,000 were selected to fund research grants, workshops and seminars and for a new "Virtual Scholars in Residence category".
