increases awareness of the student's Aboriginal ancestry; and
increases awareness of the value and responsibilities of Canadian citizenship

increases community awareness of Aboriginal culture and its place in Canadian society
promotes cross-cultural awareness of partnerships between Friendship Centres and other local community organizations: Aboriginal, non-Aboriginal, Métis and Inuit, and with business, private sector, government, etc.
